ABSTRACT
GPS
derived ellipsoidal heights, at points of known orthometric heights, were used
for the determination of the geoid in Saudi Arabia. The technique of
least-squares collocation is applied for the derivation of the thought optimal
geoidal surface. The derived geoid can then be used for a multitude of
beneficial applications. For instance, the determination of orthometric
heights, directly without leveling, from GPS measurements.
